This season, Chevy Chase has two maker markets three Saturdays apart, on Wisconsin Avenue on November 14 and on Connecticut Avenue on December 5. Both trace back to Trishtan, the group that organizes the Chevy Chase Farmers Market. It curates vendors for the Wisconsin Avenue market and co-organized last year's Connecticut Avenue market, so the two make more sense as halves of one season than as unrelated events.
One Organizer, Two Avenues
The Friendship Heights Alliance credits Trishtan Foods with curating vendors for its Makers Market & Street Festival on Wisconsin Avenue. It lists the same credit on its record of past markets and on the page for this year's Holiday Edition. Last December, District Bridges' page for the Chevy Chase Winter Market on Connecticut Avenue said the vendor market was "organized by Chevy Chase Farmers Market & Trishtan LLC."
Trishtan describes how it got here in its own words:
"Started with a passion for eating in season using locally produced ingredients. This passion led us to Farmers Market first as a shopper, then as a vendor and finally as an organizer of Chevy Chase Farmers Market."
The women-owned company now curates pop-up markets, art shows, art classes and makers markets. It says it especially likes featuring other local women-owned businesses. The group that organizes a farmers market has also been choosing holiday tables on both avenues. The 2026 Winter Market listing doesn't name its vendor organizer yet. Each market keeps its own host and its own block.

November 14 on Wisconsin Avenue
The Wisconsin Avenue market comes first, and this year it comes later than last year. The Friendship Heights Alliance held its 2025 Holiday Edition on Saturday, November 1. The 2026 edition is set for Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The two-week shift brings it closer to the start of gift shopping, and closer to the Connecticut Avenue market that follows.
The host is a newer kind of neighborhood organization. The Alliance says it formed in late 2021 as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, with public and private support, to coordinate community building, economic development and revitalization around Friendship Heights. Its 2023 business plan describes it as an independent place-management organization that works across jurisdictional lines on public space, business vitality, the arts and local entrepreneurship. The Makers Market is its signature event. It started in 2022 and has run two or three times a year since.
The market sets up on the west side of Wisconsin Avenue, from Booeymonger's to Rodman's. Both ends are long-standing businesses. Booeymonger says it has served Georgetown, Friendship Heights and Ballston since 1974. Rodman's lists its Friendship Heights store at 5100 Wisconsin Ave NW, with wine, spirits, beer, gourmet food and a pharmacy. Other partners round out the event. Red Panda Art Studio runs the craft station and Pipkin Creative produces the day. The Alliance asks visitors to RSVP through Eventbrite so it knows how many to expect.
December 5 on Connecticut Avenue
Three Saturdays later, the season moves to Connecticut Avenue. District Bridges calls the Chevy Chase Winter Market its "annual holiday market." This year's edition runs from noon to 5 p.m. on December 5 at 5500 Connecticut Avenue NW, with a visit from Elsa between 1 and 3 p.m. The host, Chevy Chase Main Street, gives local businesses hands-on support and plans events and promotions that bring people to the corridor.
The market's recent history shows how it has tied the vendor tables to the shops behind them:
- December 7, 2024. The market spread along Connecticut Avenue, with activities at Child's Play, Happy Go, the Avalon Theatre and Little Beast. Vendors included 2Betties, Alora Pure, Artz Planet Studio, Be There Lemonade and Lattes, Christmas Darling and The Tasty Alternative.
- December 6, 2025. Vendors set up between 5500 and 5700 Connecticut Avenue NW, with the market organized by Chevy Chase Farmers Market and Trishtan LLC. Artsy Beast held a student showcase and pottery sale, Child's Play hosted Elsa from 1 to 3 p.m., and the National United Methodist Carolers roamed the block at 2:30 p.m.
- December 5, 2026. The 2026 listing gives 5500 Connecticut Avenue NW as the address, confirms Elsa from 1 to 3 p.m., and says more details will follow.
The block around 5500 is easy to find. A September 2026 District Bridges schedule puts Starbucks at 5500 Connecticut Ave NW, Core72 at 5502, Happy Go and Artsy Beast at 5516 and 5518, and Little Beast at 5600. Our earlier look at the Connecticut Avenue strip in walking order covers the same few blocks. The Avalon Theatre, part of the 2024 market, is a short walk north.
What the Rosters Say So Far
Neither market has posted a full holiday vendor list yet. The Friendship Heights page says "Coming soon!" The best guide to the Wisconsin Avenue tables is the Alliance's spring market on May 9, 2026. Nearly 40 local makers, artisans, food vendors and arts organizations were expected that day, including Libé Crafts, Flor de Loto Arts, Traders Origin and Tatakua Bakery.
On Connecticut Avenue, the 2026 page already shows a row of featured-vendor logos, and Ethiopian Delights is among them. A University of Virginia Darden profile describes the company as a food startup founded by Beza Bisrat. The profile says she set out to make Ethiopian food shelf-stable and started by testing recipes and selling small batches. The Winter Market page still has a vendor sign-up link, so the December roster may keep growing.
Main Street has a smaller event between the two markets. Chevy Chase Lounge at 5510 Connecticut Ave NW hosts Trivia Night on November 19 and December 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., and 10% of proceeds go to Chevy Chase Main Street.
Two Saturdays, Planned
Because the two markets run on different schedules, each Saturday works best with its own plan.
- November 14, morning. The Wisconsin Avenue market closes at 2 p.m., so go early. The Alliance's past-events page has suggested arriving early for children's giveaways. Start at one end of the block and finish at the other. Rodman's is a natural last stop for wine or gourmet items to go with what you bought.
- November 14, lunch. Booeymonger's marks the other end of the market and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- December 5, early afternoon. If you have young children, arrive at 5500 Connecticut Avenue around 1 p.m. to catch the Elsa visit, which runs until 3.
- December 5, later. The vendor market runs until 5 p.m., which leaves time to walk the block to Core72, Artsy Beast and Little Beast after the tables.
Between the two Saturdays, the holiday tables cover both of Chevy Chase's main avenues and three weeks of the season. The Wisconsin Avenue market runs ten to two, and the Connecticut Avenue market runs noon to five.
At Jill Schwartz Group, we follow the small businesses that give Chevy Chase its character, from the farmers market stalls to the holiday tables on both avenues. If you want to talk through where in this neighborhood fits the way you live, request a private, confidential consultation.
